Auger Drive Unit

Augers are for drilling holes into the earth so if you were to be putting a fence Up you would use an auger to put holes into the ground most likely 4 feet deep

for the frost line.  They work very well for putting trees in also.  

There are many different kinds of augers: one-man, two-man, then a towable 1-man hyd, then you get into walk-behind loaders, then Bobcats the bigger machine the faster you can drill your holes.
